Included a scabbard that comes with it in very good condition. The Brass is in good condition and not worn. It was kept away in a corner cabinet of the Hewlett family home for many years.

    Description

    American Hunting Sword/Cuttoe that came from Delaney's Loyalist Brigade, New York, 1776-83. A page of documentation on it that came from the dealer I bought it from. Also with a scabbard that comes with it in very good condition. The Brass is in good condition and very little worn. The Sword\Cuttoe was kept away in a corner cabinet of the family home for many years. Came from Delaney's Loyalist Brigade, New York, 1776-83.
    This period quality American copy of a British hunting sword, also called a Cuttoe. This Cuttoe was owned by Captain Gilbert Hewlett who served in Delancey's Brigade from Sept. 1776 to Oct. 10 1783. He was the aide to Lt. Colonel Richard Hewlett & both were on staff of Brigadier General Oliver Delancey for the whole of the American War.

    Blade is 14.5" Inches Length.
    Hilt is Brass
    The Blade rather crudely forged, many American swords were made in this fashion. Post includes Insurance and shipping.
    Placed in much Bubble wrap for shipping.
