    Description

Antique Sketch or Etching - Grave of Capt. Elisha Nye Revolutionary War
Estate piece - I did not take it out of its frame so hard to tell if it's an etching or a pen and ink sketch.  Elisha Nye was born in Sandwich, Mass in 1745 and served in the Revolutionary War.   He is buried at Hallowell Village Cemetery in Kennebec County Maine.  If you search his name at Find a Grave, his entire history will come up.
The square wood frame measures 7.5" by 6.25" with an oval insert.   The back seemed to have old newspaper clippings but most of it is worn away.  Interesting piece!
