Civil War Musket Pick, Minie Ball, & Percussion Cap in Glass Topped Display Case
    USA Made Glass Top Display Case ( 4 x 5 x 3/4”)
    case reads:
    ~Musket Vent Pick Non dug
    ~Minie Ball found in Virginia
    ~Percussion Cap found in Virginia
This is a Civil War Musket Vent Pick. These were used in the nipple of the musket to clean out the hole so the musket would shoot correctly. Every gun would have used one at one time so it is a must for any Civil War collector. They were carried in the side of the percussion cap-boxes.
The Percussion cap was an essential component in the percussion rifle. The cap was, essentially, the primer on these firearms, being struck by the hammer to ignite the powder in the paper cartridge.
Two holes on back of case for easy wall mounting.
