    Description

original revolutionary war era officer's field artillery sword with leather scabbard in very good used surviving antique condition as shown. the blade is tight and in great shape still finished in bright. the leather scabbard is in great shape considering you usually don't even find them surviving at all. the scabbard never had a brass drag but a leather cap and now the blade is coming through as you can see. the brass throat of scabbard shows a gap where the guard sits i guess the leather has shrunk a little over the years. the old leather shows typical cracking crazing and flaking after 200 plus years. the sword measures approx. 33 inches from end to end, nice old attic find.
