    Description

Revolutionary War Era Powder Horn with Initials - Beautiful Olive Brown Patina. Another premium horn from an elderly gentleman's private collection.
This horn measures 9" long with a full quarter twist. The color is a aged olive  to olive brown with beautiful striations of color. This comes from many years of contact with the powder. It has been scraped thin to see the powder level inside.
The plug measures 2' in diameter. It is made of pine and attached to the horn with small iron nails. There is a small nail in the center of the plug which attached the strap. The initials IGB are carved into the plug.
The spout is traditionally carved and has a rather large hole 3/8" indicating an early horn.
This is a beautiful no problem powder horn.
