The Thermo MaxQ 2508 is an open-air, dual action orbital reciprocating shaker.  The MaxQ 2508 offers both side to side and orbital shaking from gentle to vigorous agitation with simple control. This lab shaker is a versatile choice for both growing bacteria, dissolution studies and staining of electrophoresis gels and chemical extractions, as well as applications such as shaking separatory funnels.  The Thermo MaxQ 2508 can be used with a variety of platforms and clamps or with the universal platform without clamps. To swap between modes, a simple lever at the front can be engaged, giving you 0.4in / 1.2cm movement in either orbit or stroke.
